VACE Service Awards

The VACE Service Award is intended to recognize and honor those persons who have given outstanding service to VACE and the field of correctional education. All schools and central office are encouraged to submit a nominee, but it is not mandatory.

The basic guidelines for nominating a person are:

• Nominee must be an employee of the Department of Correctional Education
• Presently a member of VACE (before the nomination process)
• A member of VACE one year prior to the nomination
• Contributed outstanding service to our organization and to the field of correctional education
• An asset to their school
• Nominee should not have been nominated for this award in the past three years
• One nomination per school

Selection Process

1. Nominations can be made by any staff member.
2. All nominations should be voted on by the entire staff/department.
3. All nominees who meet the qualifications set forth are eligible.
4. All nominations are subject to verification and approval.
5. All accepted nominees will be recognized at the VACE conference in August.
6. All nominations must be received by August 1st.
